Cynthia Ford Villalón
B.Sc. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
Graduated from the Faculty of Biology, University of Habana, Cuba. She is currently a master's student in Life Sciences at CICESE. Her project focuses on identifying insects that carry the grapevine red blotch virus as potential vectors in vineyards in Ensenada, Baja California.
Juan Viramontes
Undergraduate student
Valeria Huerta
Undergraduate student
Valeria's project aims to increase the abundance of spiders in vineyards by creating specific habitats, to use them as biological control agents against pests, specifically Hemiptera of the Cicadellidae family.
Juan's project is carried out in different locations in Ensenada, Baja California, focusing on the detection of microplastics in Athene cunicularia pellets and their relationship with the ingestion of contaminated terrestrial arthropods.
Kyara Acosta
Undergraduate student
Kyara is collecting and classifying hemipterans of the family Membracidae in Ensenada, Baja California. She is documenting locations, dates, and associated plants to create a species list and later analyze their diversity and ecological interactions.
Diego Zarate
Undergraduate student
Diego studies Hemiptera of the Cicadellidae family in vineyards of the Valle de Guadalupe, Baja California: documenting and cataloging species in their different developmental stages and analyzing their host plants to understand their life history and ecology.
